InSpirit
In Spirit is a worship group for young people, which meets weekly on a Wednesday after school. The group contributes to services by regularly leading sung worship at the Family Service and occasionally by participating with dance and drama.
The current group has twelve members aged between 12 and 15 and consists predominantly of singers with one member playing the drums. The group therefore usually relies on adult leaders to provide instrumental accompaniment. In Spirit sings a wide range of music from traditional hymns to modern worship songs and has also joined with the choir at special services to sing choral arrangements. As well as singing at our own services, In Spirit has also led worship at a range of other events in the area.
As part of the overall youth provision of the Church, the group has the opportunity to participate in a number of activities and trips. For the last two years In Spirit has had its own residential in Wales, where the group members have had the opportunity to have a summer holiday together at the seaside, staying near Fishguard in Pembrokeshire.
The group consists of young people from a range of backgrounds and abilities and the members are at different stages in their walk with God. The ethos of In Spirit is to develop all young people so that, regardless of ability, each individual may have greater confidence in their gifts and have a deeper understanding of worship.
