Kyle and Jane McFarlane

McFarlane FamilyKyle McFarlane was youth minister at Redland for several years, till he and Jane felt the call to work in Tanzania. They have been living in Dar Es Salaam with Ben (now 13), Oliver (11) and Aidan (9) since 1998. During that time Kyle was involved in setting up Alliance Ministries, a training and discipleship ministry focused on teaching Bible in Secondary Schools around the city. In 2006 he handed this ministry over to Simon Chanilla, and is still involved on the Board of Trustees and as an encourager and advisor. Currently Alliance Ministries are teaching in five Secondary schools in the city.

Kyle is currently teaching IGCSE and A level Geography at Haven of Peace Academy, and heads up the Service Learning Programme for the school. The latter gives every student and teacher and opportunity to be involved in the local community at a meaningful level on a regular basis, and encourages the integration of the Biblical concept of service into the regular curriculum of the school.

Jane shares her time between teaching Bible with Alliance, coaching English as a Second Language at HOPAC, a prayer ministry and helping a couple of friends with income generating projects.

The boys attend, and enjoy the teaching and activities at Haven Of Peace Academy (HOPAC). Their interests include swimming, music, various sports and computer games.
