Brass Plaques

You may have heard about the sad case of several brass memorial plaques being stolen from our church in October 2010. The plaques were dedicated to various local charities that existed over the centuries.

Henk StrikUnfortunately these plaques were prised off the wall and sold to a local scrap metal dealer. They were recovered within 24 hours, very bent and damaged, and brought back to the church.

After extensive restoration the plaques were restored to the walls of the church in early September 2011.

This is the Church architect Henk Strik offering up the most severely damaged plaque in its new position for which de minimis permission was sought from the archdeacon to relocate it within better view of church visitors.
