Prams and Toddlers

Every Tuesdays at 10.30 until 12noon in The Children’s Room (top floor of Peter Street Rooms)

Who is it for?

Prams and Toddlers is a group for babies, toddlers and pre-school age children and their parents, grandparents or carers. Our youngest baby started coming at 1 week but we've also had mums and bumps coming along too. Prams and Toddlers meet once a fortnight. Most of the children are from non-Church families, but some do attend the Kids' Praise Service.

What Do Prams and Toddlers Do?

The main part of the morning is spent with the children playing and the parents chatting. A craft activity is set up in the art room for those children who want to take part. Recent activities have included making chocolates, planting flowers, making snowglobes and glitter pictures. Then there is coffee, tea, squash and biscuits provided by our fantastic team (who are also more than happy to cuddle babies). The session ends with a few songs and a Bible story. The children are encouraged to join in by dressing up, setting up a scene or helping with actions.

What else?

The children and their parents are invited to join the Scramblers group for social activities such as the Christmas party, Pancake party and Teddy Bears' Picnic. And sometimes we meet without the kids for Christmas meals, Mothers' Day brunch etc! We also hold a variety of events throughout the year to raise money for The Children’s Society. Last year these included a Christmas Shopping Morning and A Great Big Tea Party. The children and their families are invited to join us for our monthly Kids' Praise Service as well as for our main Church festivals at Easter, Harvest, Mothering Sunday and Christmas.

Stay4Lunch

Our new initiative is held every 2nd Tuesday after Prams and Toddlers. Families are invited to stay for lunch. Parents bring packed lunches but drinks and cakes are provided at 50p per person. Booster seats, toodlers' plates and cutlery are available along with a microwave for heating baby food.

Munch Bunch

Who is it for?

This is an after-school club for children aged 4 to 11 (preschool and primary) and initially meets once a monthly, moving to twice a month if it proves to be popular.

What does The Munch Bunch do?

Children, and their parents start in the Children's Room for a time of play with activities including Lego, DVDs, craft and clay modelling. There is also a tuck shop. The group then moves downstairs where the children share tea whilst the parents enjoy coffee and biscuits.

What else?

It's hoped that the Munch Bunch will attract children from our Sunday morning groups as well as children who have moved on from Prams and Toddlers. The Munch Bunch will be invited to the activities and events hosted for our other childrens groups.
