Prayer

As with any Church, prayer plays an important part in our daily worship and outreach. We have a dedicated prayer ministry team which is on-hand at all main services to offer prayer and support for any-one who requires it.

Would you like to share a prayer?

It can often be helpful to share prayers with others. If you would like to contribute a prayer so that others may pray it with you, please use the form on Prayer Corner.

ACTS

On Sunday January 1st 2006 Liz Smith presented the congregation with a Creative Sermon on ACTS: Adoration, Confession, Thanks and Supplication. The congregations was encouraged to offer its interpretation of these headings by suggesting words and phrases that were important to them as individuals. The results are below . . .

Confession

We are sorry to God because of our selfishness, ingratitude, complacency, apathy, intolerance, fear, not listening, worry, inward-looking, lack of faith, lack of hope, lack of compassion, judgmentalism . . .

Thanks

We are thankful to God for sunshine, Jesus, families (ours), keeping me safe, music, love, friends, Holy Spirit, freedom to worship, peace and joy, memories, children and young people, food and water, creation, Ipods!, health, eternity . . .

Supplication

We ask God for guidance, vision, radical change, who to reach out (especially to our young people), how to serve more effectively, peace in the world, Church development plan, how to use our individual gifts, more empathy and understanding, openness to change, losing of prejudices . . .
